 Beverly McKinley was born and grew up in Kingston , Jamaica. While flying for the national airline, Air Jamaica where she worked as a Flight Attendant, she followed her passion to work with people on a calmer more rewarding level. She decided to take a one year leave of absence from flying to attend the London Institute of Beauty Culture in London, England in order to pursue her calling. There in 1976 Beverly became a massage therapist, aesthetician and electrologist. She returned to flying and began operation of her first day spa, Body Dynamics in Kingston, Jamaica on her days off from work.
In 1993 Beverly returned to England in Tunbridge Wells, where she studied and prepared for the advanced training in esthetics and body therapy under the instruction of renown CIDESCO official and owner of Bretlands Beauty Training Center, Mrs. Joan Thornycroft. There Beverly earned the coveted CIDESCO Diplomate recognition, becoming one of the first to do so in the western hemisphere.
Beverly has spared no effort expanding her knowledge of the art and science so close to her heart studying with such notables as: Erica Miller of Correlations, Annette Hanson of Aetlier Esthetique in New York, Hildergard Witlinger of Vodder School of Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Aaron Mattes of Active Isolated Stretching Techniques, Laura Norman of Feet First Reflexology, Marge Meshew, Thai Massage, Craniosacral with Upledger Institute, ICA Esthetics at Perdue University, Physicians Choice of Arizona, PCA peels and medical applications, and Dermalogica. She is a member of the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork NCBTMB, Florida State Massage Therapy Association FSMTA, and Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals ABMP.
After emigrating to the USA, she worked at the airport as a Customer Service agent and felt the intense desire to return to the much calmer and meaningful world of mind, body, spirit. One year after obtaining her Florida massage therapy and skincare specialist licenses she fulfilled that dream by opening her Island Touch Massage and Spa in Stuart, Florida. IslandTouch Massage and Spa located in downtown Stuart, is proudly and gratefully embarking on its fifth year of operation serving residents and visitors to the Treasure Coast of Florida. Her dedication, sincerity, and passion to her clients and the industry are appreciated by all who is touched by her.
It is Beverly’s strong belief that education and experience count and for that ethic Beverly McKinley is able to make an important contribution to her community and to the profession to which she has dedicated her life.
